Yandhai Nepean Crossing

Project:

The Roads and Maritime Services engaged Seymour White to construct a new pedestrian and cyclist bridge across the Nepean River between Penrith and Emu Plains. The new bridge, which was opened on 29 October 2018, has a long single span of 200m and weighs over 600 tonnes.

Summit Fencing was contracted by Seymour White at the beginning of the project to supply and install semi-permanent chainwire fencing around the site compound. The bridge was constructed in a large shed within this compound, and as each section was completed it was pushed out over the river.

Towards the completion of project, the temporary fencing was then pulled down and permanent chainwire fencing was reinstalled. Other fencing works completed by Summit were rural fencing around properties on the western banks, and a short run of black flat top tubular fencing at the entrance to the bridge on the eastern bank.​
