The Samantha Riley Drive upgrade from a two-lane semi-rural road to a four lane carriageway is one of the biggest infrastructure projects in The Hills Shire. The project was carried out in stages, with Stage 3 between Hezlett Road and Foxall Road being the final stage. This section was contracted to Menai Civil, and was opened in mid-July.
Works on the Stage 3 section involved excavation of the existing road crest to lower it by two metres, as well as the construction of retaining walls in order to meet Australian road safety standards. Summit Fencing supplied and installed RMS Pedestrian Fencing along the length of these retaining walls to ensure the safety of pedestrians and cyclists as they commute along the dual footpaths.
